How to Take Part

This year, #TECHOGNITION will take place on Friday 13th March 2026 and we would love you to join the many thousands of technicians who will be taking part across the UK.

To help spread the word before the event, download and print the official poster below and display it around your school or college. Please encourage your colleagues to get involved. All school and FE college technicians can take part including those who work in Science, ICT, Technology (D&T), Food, Art & Design, Music, Drama, P.E. and others.

Event bunting

We have two styles of event bunting that can be downloaded, printed and displayed in your workplace. You will need a length of string or ribbon, scissors and a stapler to assemble the bunting.

Join our mailing list to receive updates and reminders about the event and related activity. Please encourage your teachers and school leaders to join as well.

On the Event Day (Friday 13th March 2026)...

  1. Take a photo of yourself or technician colleagues performing an interesting, novel or routine but genuine technician task.
  2. Upload your photos to this website for display in the event gallery page. The gallery will be active from 8am on Friday 13th March when the event begins. You can upload as many photos as you like during the day. See the Prizes & Giveaways page for details of this year’s prize draw.
  3. Upload your pictures to X (Twitter), Facebook or Instagram using the #TECHOGNITION hashtag with a brief explanation of what you are doing in the photo and share any #TECHOGNITION posts you see. (Please note that photos uploaded to social media will not be entered into our prize draw. Only those uploaded to this website will be).
  4. Follow our @techognitionUK X (Twitter) account and our official Bluesky account for further news and updates.
